    Conductors run in parallel only share current evenly when they match. The National Electrical Code requires paralleled conductors in each phase, neutral or grounded circuit to be the same in all of these ways:

    • Same length
    • Same conductor material
    • Same size
    • Same insulation type
    • Terminated the same way

    What should I send for a wire cutting quote?

    The wire type and size, each cut length, how many of each, colors, and how many parallel sets. Add the job location and the date you need it. The set builder on this page puts most of that together for you, or upload your wire schedule or plans.

    Can you cut matched parallel sets?

    Yes. List the number of sets and the conductors in each, and every conductor in a set is cut to the same length.

    Can I get the colors I need?

    Tell us the colors for each phase, neutral and ground. Some larger sizes may only be available in black for phase taping, and we’ll confirm with you before anything is cut.

    Can I order cut wire online?

    Yes, for many wire types. On the Wire & Cable pages, choose a standard length or enter a custom one, and use Splice to split a length into several cuts. For parallel sets and larger jobs, send a request on this page.

    How do I get the wire to my job?

    Pick it up at our Warren or Waterford Township counter, or have it delivered with jobsite delivery. Include the job location and date with your request.
