About Excel Warren
Excel Lighting & Electrical Supply Co. was founded in Michigan in April 2007 to give the trade a local supply house with real product knowledge behind the counter. Today we serve Metro Detroit from two branches: Warren, on 8 Mile Road at the Warren–Detroit line, and Waterford Township on Dixie Highway.
The Warren branch is where electricians grab wire and breakers before the job starts, builders work through lighting schedules, facilities teams track down replacement fixtures and homeowners pick out a chandelier. Bring a part number, a photo of the old part or a full material list, and we’ll help you find it, quote it and get it ready for pickup or delivery.
The four things people come to the Warren branch for most.

Wire & cable
Pick up copper and aluminum building wire, feeder and service entrance cable, MC and NM-B cable, bare copper and cord at the Warren counter. Our wire cutting and paralleling service cuts each run to length and can parallel sets, so the wire shows up ready to pull instead of on a reel you have to measure on site.

Lighting showroom
Drive past on 8 Mile and you’ll see the windows full of lit chandeliers. Inside, the Warren chandelier room and lighting displays let you compare chandeliers, pendants, sconces and ceiling fixtures in person, with someone who can help with sizing, finishes and the right lamps.
The same team handles commercial work too: high bays, troffers, wall packs, LED retrofits, drivers and controls for offices, warehouses, shops and retail spaces. Builders can send a lighting schedule and we’ll work through it room by room.

Generators & power distribution
From a home standby generator to a building’s new service, the Warren team helps you source the power side of the job: Generac residential and commercial standby generators, automatic and manual transfer switches, dry-type transformers, panelboards, disconnects, meter sockets and meter stacks.
Send the specs and we’ll quote the right gear and tell you how and when it can get to you.
