E-401How we help electrical contractors

An electrical supply house that works the way contractors do.

Contractors need the right material at the right time, and someone who answers when a spec changes. Here’s how our team supports electrical contractors across Michigan and beyond, from the bid to the last punch-list item.

  1. Quotes from takeoffs, bid lists and plans

Send a takeoff, a bid list, plans or a list of part numbers through the Quote Center, or bring it to the counter. Our team works through it line by line and asks about anything that needs clarifying, like a missing voltage, an unclear catalog number or a fixture with no finish called out, before pricing it.

With a trade account, project quotes and purchasing stay under your company name, in one place.

  2. Wire and cable, cut to length

Wire and cable is one of the biggest line items on most jobs. We supply copper and aluminum building wire, feeder cable, MC and NM-B cable and bare copper, and our wire cutting and paralleling service cuts runs to your lengths and parallels sets so they are ready to pull.

Send the conductor size, insulation type, color and the length of each run.

  3. Gear, panels and power distribution

We help contractors source load centers, panelboards and circuit breakers, disconnects and safety switches, transformers, and metering and service entrance equipment for residential, commercial and light industrial work.

Include the voltage, phase, amperage, number of circuits and the manufacturer you are matching so we can quote the right gear.

  4. Commercial lighting and controls

Lighting is in our name. We supply commercial fixtures such as troffers, high bays, wall packs and area lights, along with emergency and exit lighting, lamps, drivers and lighting controls.

Send the fixture schedule with wattage, color temperature, voltage and mounting, and we will quote it or talk through comparable options. See commercial lighting.

  5. Generators, transformers and backup power

For backup power and service work, we supply standby generators, automatic transfer switches, and dry-type transformers and power supplies.

Send the kW or kVA, voltage, phase and fuel type to start a quote.

  6. Will call pickup and jobsite delivery

Order ahead and pick up at the counter with will call pickup, or have materials delivered to your job site with jobsite delivery. For larger jobs, materials can be staged and kitted by phase or area to save time on site.

  7. Tools, testers and jobsite supplies

Keep crews stocked with hand and power tools, meters and testers, fasteners, strut and support materials, tape, connectors and safety gear. Scissor lift rentals are available for overhead lighting and electrical work.

  8. Trade accounts, Net 30 terms and tax exemption

A trade account brings it all together. Apply once with your company information and choose your home branch. Pick pay at purchase if you don’t need terms, or apply for Net 30 with your business credit details and two supplier references. Upload a tax-exempt certificate if it applies. Our team reviews each application and follows up if anything else is needed.
